When was the last time you felt like you were wonderful? Today, last week, as a child, never? Well I’m here to tell you, “YOU, dear one, are WONDERFUL!”
How would I know that you are wonderful, you ask? I know that because you are created in the image of God! That’s right, God’s image. Let me say that again, YOU are created in God’s image. That alone makes you wonderful!
Think on that just a bit, will you? Scripture tells us in Genesis that God made man(kind) in His image. No other created thing or being was made in God’s image. Just us. Psalm 139:13 says, “…You wove me in my mother’s womb” and verse 14 says, “…I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
That means you are not an accident. No matter what the circumstances were when you came into this world. God fearfully and wonderfully wove you while you were in your mother’s womb! YOU!
Scripture goes on to say , “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 So regardless of where you are right now in life, physically and/or emotionally, know this – God has a future full of hope for you.
What could that future be? Oh, friend, God has so much planned for wonderful you. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” You are HIS ‘workmanship’ (He made you) and He has good works prepared for you so that you would walk in them – just follow His lead.
Listen, God loves you. He created you in His image. Therefore, you are wonderful. He does not require you to do wonderful or be wonderful, you ARE wonderful because He loves you and created you in His image.
I was reminded yesterday that “Life is God’s gift to us and what we do with that life is our gift to Him.” The greatest possible thing you can do with your life is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. All you have to do is confess and believe.
Romans 10:9- 10 (NASB) “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
I pray that if you have not confessed and believed Christ, that today will be the day that you do! If you are already a believer, than I pray, today, you will accept the wonderful things He has prepare for you so that you would walk in them.
